CAMPER AGES: 8 to 17

TYPE OF CAMP: Overnight/Sleepaway. Overnight

CAMPER GENDER(S): Coed Campers.

CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Swimming, Adventure, Wilderness/Nature, Waterfront/Aquatics, Team Sports, Horses/Equestrian, Dance, Fine Arts/Crafts, Theater, and more. Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking, Backpacking/Outdoor Living Skills, Leadership

CAMP LOCATION: The camp is located in California's splendid Tahoe National Forest, 1-1/4 hours north of Lake Tahoe, on the peaceful headwaters of the North Yuba River and adjacent to the Lakes Basin Recreation Area with dozens of pristine mountain lakes and miles and miles of hiking, biking, and horseback trails. Please visit This Website Link or call us at (866) 597-6617 for more information.

CAMP FACILITIES: The facility is rustic, in keeping with its wilderness adventure program. Participants sleep in cabins and large traditional tipis. There is a bathhouse with private showers and flush toilets. In addition, there is an administrative building with the camp's office and health center, recreation hall, dining hall, bike shop, arts & crafts hut, pool, volleyball court, archery range, challenge ropes course, horseshoe pit, disc golf course, and a camp fire area including a stage.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The camp's focus is on helping children 8 to 17 take another step toward becoming happy, healthy, well-adjusted adults.

We promote positive youth development through a program that includes many of the summer camp classics, such as arts & crafts, archery, camp fire, dance, drama, games, swimming, etc., plus exhilarating wilderness adventure activities, such as rock climbing, mountain biking, mountain boarding, horseback trail rides, hikes, backpacking, etc.

We also offer three specialized program tracks in which kids who love rock climbing, mountain biking or outdoor living skills (backpacking) can really focus on those activities.

In fact, our program has so many fun activities kids can't do them all in a single week! After a day of team building fun and games designed so kids get to meet and know others, kids sign up for activities every other day. They are not locked into a block schedule. Rather, they can sign up for the activities they really enjoy, or to be with friends. After all, when people think of camp, they think of fun and friends.

And our camp is so confident that your child will have fun, it offers a money-back guarantee. If your child doesn't have fun, we'll refund your money. No questions asked. (See the web site for details.) We don't know of another camp that backs its program with such a promise.

But fun isn't even the best part of camp. While kids come to camp the first time for all the great activities, they return for the magic. They simply feel exhilarated and nourished from their experience. This springs from our focus on youth development, with activities designed to help kids:

* build self-esteem and self-worth by contributing to their community,

* develop self-confidence by trying new activities in a criticism-free zone and acquiring new or improved skills such as in rock climbing, dance, paddle boarding, drama, or mountain biking,

* increase independence by successfully living away from home and making decisions for themselves such as what activities to pursue and even designing their own activity period,

* gain in understanding of others who come from different regions of the world (children and staff have come from virtually every continent on earth, including Antarctica where one of our staff member help build the research station),

* nurture an enduring sense of adventure, unafraid to try new things, springing from all the opportunities at camp, the encouragement and the lack of criticism by both peers and adults, and

* enhance an appreciation of nature by unplugging from electronics and living in a beautiful living, breathing forest.

When you mix all these positive developmental attributes with fun and friends in a beautiful mountain setting, you get all the ingredients for magic.

We think this contributed to Outside Magazine naming Shaffer's High Sierra Camp as one of its five favorite camps in the entire country. And with a money-back guarantee, you can't go wrong.

Don't settle for just a fun time when your child can have a life-changing experience. It's one of the best gifts you can give your child.

Watch our video (This Website Link) and then give us a call. We'd love to talk to you!

P.S. With room for just 70 campers at any one time, sessions fill. Don't be left out. Call today!

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers live with their counselors in one of several villages grouped by age and gender. Our facilities also include multiple indoor and outdoor program spaces (including a 700-person Amphitheater), a sustainable farm, a vineyard, four outdoor plazas, athletic facilities and fields, an alpine climbing tower, a low ropes course and a 400-feet zip line, overnight space, hiking trails, multiple arts facilities - and a pool and waterslide.

We offer a fun and engaging camp program where any kids entering 2nd - 8th grade (LIT for 9th - 12th) can hike, swim, boat, explore and play. A place where children can be themselves while participating in traditional, good old fashioned summer camp activities.

At Marin Ranch Camp, the opportunities to engage with nature are limitless thanks to our lake, river, organic garden, farm animals and hiking trails spanning over 1,700 acres in beautiful West Marin.

Sure, we do all the traditional camp activities like canoeing, archery and a ropes course to name a few, but it goes much deeper than that.

We believe in the power of our sleep-away camp.

We recognize the importance of providing children with a space where they can get away from the pressures of everyday life and experience freedom from stress and over-scheduling.

Our caring and thoughtful team helps each child have the best possible experience by acknowledging them as an individual with their own strengths, challenges, fears and passions. Campers are provided a space where they feel safe to step a bit outside of their comfort zone and challenge themselves by experiencing new adventures.

We hold a deep understanding of the incredible transformation that occurs when kids attend our residential camp. We support them as they learn and grow in a new and encouraging environment, away from the familiar surroundings of home and family, and we welcome them into our loving community where it is safe be yourself.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our high school campers are Leaders-in-Training (LITs). CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our Vision
At Earth Path Education we encourage the experience of being at home in nature and within oneself. We empower girls, boys, young women and men, adults and elders to claim the path to earth connection that is within each of us. We begin to see how bio-mimicry, being like the stream, being like the deer, can help us to live harmoniously, reducing stress and enhancing the ease of our existence. Through learning Earth skills, nature awareness, and ancestral wisdom we remember our place in an interconnected web; we remember who we are.

When we commune with our unity; we naturally develop compassionate communication skills with all beings. These skills aid us throughout life by allowing us to feel how our thoughts, words, and actions affect the whole of our community, the whole of life. We then begin to understand how we want to show up for ourselves, our communities, and our world.

With an understanding of our inter-connectedness to Earth and each other, we grow the roots to support a life of balanced giving and recieving. We naturally develop the inner wisdom that allows each of us to live our lives with confidence in ourselves and our visions, integrity within our relationships and actions, and humble gratitude for all that we experience everyday.

We help grow a culture of listening to mother earth as our wisest mentor.

Our Approach
Nature Awareness:
Through focusing on nature awareness we encourage our students to experience what is happening around them, awakening curiosity and inspiration. When students are empowered to root in processes like making fire, foraging wild foods, making rope, and learning bird songs; they begin to feel capable of relaxing and deepening in the wilderness. We believe that learning skills of how to source our human lives from the abundant life around us grows respect; respect for the plants that heal our wounds, the sticks that give us warmth, and the creek that cools us. We develop a deepening gratitude to the elements that offer us life.

Regenerative Presence:
We use a variety of tools to inspire a regenerative presence on the planet. At Earth Path Education, we believe that the concept of regeneration is the key to a harmonious future here on Earth. We believe that as humans we can do more than not harm, we can actually feed all of creation with our beauty, our rituals, our songs, and our deep listening.

Village Building:
We hold necessary the role of the village in our Wilderness Rites of Passage ceremonies. It is the village that sends the initaites into their journeys, and the village that catches the initaites and witnesses the transformations. The rites of passage is also a key part to the health of the village, pumping all members with health, inspirations and vitality, bringing to the village the vision seeds that are to sprout us into a more harmonious way of relating.

Ceremonial Arts:
At Earth Path Education we are committed to the beauty way. We make earth offerings, and leave equsitie altars in the forest. We sings and dance, at each spring, we feed the fire with our stories and we compost our grief and our burdens, so that life can grow corn with it to feed the people. We pray for our lives, we pray for the earth. Our dreams bring us messages, and as we tune into our rhythms, and synch up with the rythms of the land. The earth starts to dream up through us, clarifying our purpose, calling us forward, and illuminating our gifts. Our ceremonies are an art of listening, to that wisdom which has been held in the earth and is just waiting to be danced up through us.

Permaculture:
Permaculture creates systems that provide for Human needs and the Earth’ s needs through mutually beneficial relationships. The health of our human community is linked to our local bioregion, which in turn is linked to the wellbeing of all ecosystems. We instill the ethics of Elemental Linking and Holistic Thinking. As every element becomes an integral part of the whole system, the whole community becomes more dynamic, harmonious, and energy efficient. These enhanced relationships reduce maintenance and stress, while increasing yields and happiness. These permaculture principles apply to our ecological relationship and our social relationships.

Play:
We instill the idea that work and play can be one in the same. We inspire youth and adults to follow the things that they are truly passionate about. We help guide each other to feel confident in achieving our dreams, and manifesting a life that we are happy to be living each day. We believe that the most harmonious accomplishments come from a people who love what they were doing, feeling that their calling, is a place where ones passion is meeting the thrist of the world and bringing sweet water to the driest of places. We support our participants in finding this inspiration, passion, and motivation within themselves and taking action on their calling.

Meet Our Instructors
We offer instruction from connected, knowledgeable Ecologists, Naturalists, Primitive Skills Enthusiasts, and Crafts Teachers, and other Earth-loving individuals. We invite special Guest Teachers and Inspirational Elders to join us throughout our programs. Please check out our instructor bios. All of our instructors will share with your children and teens the wisdom they have been so committed to incorporating into their lives and the world. The great thing is we will learn as much if not more from them!

OTHER CAMP INFO: Growing Goddess is much more than your average camp. Here at Earth Path Education, we are truly passionate about supporting youth as they grow and mature. We think of these young women as a part of our family, and strive to support them in all aspects of their lives. We provide a safe space for these girls to freely share their joys and their sorrows. We thrive together through honoring our sisterhood. As we see the benefits of connecting together within a supportive network, all competitive energy melts away. With the guidance of mentors and a close connection to the earth, a culture is created that marks this powerful transition with intentional ceremony.

The Rites of Passage allows each young woman to connect to her inner guidance. This clarity inspires self-confidence, empowered decision-making, compassionate communication, and goal motivation. We come together to find the beauty inherent in each of us, so we fully believe in ourselves and each other. We sing, we dance, we celebrate! We learn about who we are and how we want to show up for our communities, this earth and our lives.

We learn about how to care for our amazing bodies, and discuss how to maintain a positive body-image. We learn about the traditional Moon Lodge, a sacred space established to honor a woman’s moontime. Through implementing these ceremonial practices, we learn how we can create space to deeply explore the blessings of being a woman.

We experience ourselves through ceremony and through play! We learn ancestral crafts, games, stories, and songs as we root into our bio-region! As we camp and hike our amazing landscapes, we explore the ways in which we can sustain ourselves through our understanding of the natural world. We learn a variety of earth skills including how to make fire, wild edibles, permaculture, plant medicines, and much more.

We call upon elders in our community to share their wisdom; we bring in strong role models to teach a variety of skills, crafts, and classes. Together we form a web that nourishes the fertile soil that feeds our growth and expansion throughout life. This quest is a powerful and fun-filled experience for all, helping to create the beautiful, heart-centered women of our future!

CAMP FACILITIES: Facilities and accommodations vary from trip to trip.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Road Less Traveled as an organization was founded by Jim and Donna Stein in 1991, and has been successfully running safe, exciting, life-changing trips for teens ever since. Both Jim and Donna are still the current directors, and are integrally involved in every single aspect of the company. In the summer, they are on call 24/7, available both to parents as well as to our leaders in the field.

We are an ACA accredited organization with an impeccable track record. We believe in the process of accreditation. It allows us to compare our standards to other professionals in the industry. Our accreditation allows us to follow specific standards related to leader screening including use of application forms, reference checks, personal interviews, work history review, and background checks.

Many years ago, we were the first company serving young adults to require that all leaders have a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) medical certification. WFR training is far more advanced than standard first aid or wilderness first aid. In addition to this certification, we carry extensive first aid kits on all of our programs that include antibiotics and epinephrine. Contents, protocols, and standing orders are reviewed and updated every year by our Medical Director who is an MD.

Since our inception, RLT has been on the cutting edge of technological advances in communication. We began carrying Iridium satellite phones on all of our programs as soon as they were available. Today we continue to carry the latest in emergency communication systems. According to geographic location, programs are equipped with satellite phones, ground-to-air radios, and/or cellular phones providing the possibility of 24-hour access to medical help in case of emergency.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS:
TASC : Teen Age Service Camp
(entering 10th -11th grades)

TASC is geared toward developing leadership, through a group-oriented community project implemented by the campers, and through special programs. Throughout the session, TASCers experience pride and fulfillment as they enrich the Camp JCA Shalom campus. In addition, TASCers get to experience the best components of the general camp program along with a special out-of-camp overnight trip. For over 45 years, the TASC program has been one of our most popular teen programs.

TASC : California Kibbutz -
(entering 11th grades)

TASC Kibbutz is a new program created just for entering 11th graders. This program is an immersive three week program designed to be the ultimate Jewish camping and leadership experience. In TASC Kibbutz, we transport ourselves back a hundred years ago to feel what it was like for some of the pioneers who made their way to Israel. The "Kibbutzniks" will have to "create their own world" at camp. They will build their own living area, cook many of their own meals, and even help work the farm at camp! By creating a kibbutz at JCA, the Kibbutzniks will come together as a tightly knit community, grow closer to the land; learn about sustainability and organic farming; and gain knowledge of kibbutz life in Israel- all while having fun at camp! While the Kibbutzniks will spend the majority of time creating their kibbutz, they will still be connected to camp, spending sometime every day with the rest of the camp community, and still participating in many of camps offerings such as horseback riding and the ropes course. At the end of the program, the Kibbutzniks will leave with a sense of accomplishment, a set of friends for life, and a true finale of their last camp experience before becoming a Counselor-In-Training (CIT).

CIT: Counselor-In-Training
(entering grade 12)

These future leaders have a lasting effect on both the spirit and welfare of Camp JCA Shalom. Workshops in Jewish programming, child development and leadership training, along with observation, individual supervision and actual work with younger campers, helps the CIT explore the functioning and philosophy of camp, and develop his/her leadership abilities. This is an enriching and exciting experience as well as an important step towards future staff positions at camp. By the end of the summer, the CITs have the opportunity to become junior counselors during Session 3, and will receive a small stipend. Personal Interview required.

All Teen Leadership Programs:

- Require an additional application and interview prior to acceptance.
- Have a minimum and maximum number of participants.
- Have opportunities to gain community service hours.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Scholarship and financial aid is available through a couple of resources. contact camp for more information.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Year-round programs include family camp weekends, weekend holiday camps, and a week long winter camp.

On all trips we conduct some side hikes (without backpacks) to famous sites and peaks (such as Half Dome, Clouds Rest, El Capitan, Mount Hoffman, and Red Peak).

These day trips average another 6 to 10 miles. Every other week we offer a different trail. So if you would like to choose a two-week adventure (13 days/ 12 nights) by combining two sessions; your child will be guaranteed to see different terrain each week. Additionally, by choosing the two-week option, your child will have a layover day in either Tuolumne Meadows or Yosemite Valley proper where the participants will partake in more sightseeing opportunities. During this layover day, participants will also have a chance to re-supply, wash-up, and eat some fresh food at a local eatery.

Throughout the adventure, participants will be guided along some of the most famous trails and to the top of some of the most famous passes and peaks within Yosemite National Park. Our experienced leaders have an extensive knowledge of the Yosemite backcountry. In addition to taking our participants to many of the famous locations, our leaders will also guide participants to lesser known areas that we have found over the years such as off-the-trail high alpine lakes (where fish are plentiful), backcountry waterfalls, alpine meadows, spectacular vistas, watering holes, cliff jumping areas, and natural waterslides.

On most trips, we backpack every day but one (a lay over day and location is usually agreed upon by the team) and we are on the trail for an average of 4-5 hours. Most of our trips go from a higher elevation to a lower elevation and throughout the experience we take our time, take in the views, and break at awesome watering holes. Yet, viewing the Yosemite backcountry is only one of the many outcomes that occur on these trips.

Our primary mission is to use the natural environment and outdoor activities to teach participants the necessary skills and attitudes for living successful lives. We also strive to foster an appreciation for the wilderness, nature, and the world around us. In addition to unique individual backgrounds and certifications, our leaders are all trained in Adventure Based Programming. Through Adventure Based Programming, participants will be challenged to improve their sense of self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence. Participants will participate in daily goal setting, group activities and debriefing (usually mixed in with marshmallows around the campfire.) This is all done within an environment of fun and support.

All participants will also learn basic backpacking skills, wilderness ethics, wilderness appreciation and engage in Leave No Trace principals. Along with creating lasting memories, it is our goal that participants will finish this adventure with a greater knowledge of themselves, the world, and the environment around them.

Dryland sessions include stroke, strength and flexibility analysis, Microfiber Reduction to increase flexibility beyond what stretching alone can do, and stretches and strength training exercises. Each swimmer receives a 2500 yard workout to do at home after the camp, and a Somax Powerbelt to increase the strength and speed of hip rotation.

OTHER CAMP INFO: OUR MISSION, PHILOSOPHY and SHOWS

Stage Door Conservatory nurtures the social, emotional and intellectual development of children using by the performing arts as a vehicle of learning. By supporting children to express themselves as theater artists and engage collaboratively with others in the creative process, we help them develop both confidence in themselves and their potential and greater acceptance, appreciation and respect for others.

OUR GOALS

We will create experiences that nurture and support the creative lives of young persons, using musical theater as a vehicle for learning.

Our programs will serve youth in grades 2 through 12.

Our programs will offer youth a rich conservatory experience, providing them with opportunities to develop their skills as singers, actors and dancers, learn the art of stage-craft and perform publically as an ensemble in high caliber productions.

We will offer our programs to actors with all levels of prior experience and skill, providing opportunities for each participant to express themselves creatively and participate meaningfully in our productions.

We will encourage our young actors to regard and support one another as equal members of a collaborative ensemble, where each person's contributions are valued equally.

We will encourage our audiences to become members of a special circle of support and celebrate our young performers, not only participate as bystanders.

We will encourage our participants to reflect on their own lives, as well as the cultural, social, moral and spiritual themes represented in our productions, both to help them develop their understanding of theater and the contexts in which it was been created. We will help young performers to develop their capacities for empathy and respect for others, as they explore the human themes depicted in our plays.

We will encourage our young actors to co-create a community of caring with one another, and to communicate with one another with respect.

CORE VALUES

Stage Door Conservatory supports the livelihood of children and youth in our community by engaging them in inspirational performing arts programs. These programs are based on the seven tenets. We believe:

Theater provides powerful opportunities for learning about oneself, others and the world.

The performing arts provide youth with excellent opportunities to both express themselves and engage in an invaluable process of collaboration with others.

A conservatory offers young actors the opportunity to immerse themselves in all aspects of theater.

We will strive to ensure that every each young person in our program has a meaningful experience as a performer, whatever their prior experience and skill.

Youth from different backgrounds benefit from the opportunity to collaborate creatively with one another.

High quality theater is achieved through maintaining and understanding artistic discipline. Youth can create plays of exceptional quality.

CAMP LIFE Many children regard Stage Door Conservatory a home away from home because we focus on creating a sense of community for everyone who join us. During our first week together, as in all subsequently weeks, we will focus on developing a strong sense of esprit d-corps among our campers ... encouraging the creation of new bonds between the children who are becoming newly acquainted as members of our ensemble, as well as the renewal of old bond among children who have spent prior summers together as members of our camp. Both ON BROADWAY and TEENS ON STAGE include many alumni who participate in our program year after year. If your child is joining us for the first time, please let them know that are not alone and that they will be welcomed and cared for ... within a day he or she will feel as much a part of ON BROADWAY and TEENS ON STAGE as everyone else!

AN ENSEMBLE and CONSERVATORY PHILOSOPHY

Both ON BROADWAY and TEENS ON STAGE are ensemble-based programs. During our first weeks together, we will encourage our young actors to collaborate in the creative process together and to appreciate and support one another as persons and performers. We will emphasize the unique importance of each child who is a part of our production, whether they are performing in a lead role or as a member of our ensemble. Because we are a conservatory, in addition to rehearsing and performing in a high caliber production, children participate in every aspect of our production, from costuming, to set-design, to props development.

Campers choose one instrument to focus on for the week out of vocals, drums, guitar, bass, keys, or DJ. All instruction takes place in small group lessons and is led by experienced and enthusiastic female musicians. Private lessons are available for the girls to sign up for every evening.

BAND PRACTICE

The bands have band practice every day. During band practice, band members work together to write a song and practice playing as an ensemble. Band coaches help bands with the writing process, facilitate the rehearsals, and answer questions as necessary. Band counselors help guide campers and smooth out any bumps along the way.

WORKSHOPS

Throughout the week, workshops are held on a variety of interesting, helpful, and awesome topics! LUNCHTIME PERFORMANCES

Every day a different band plays a live set for the girls and then sticks around to take questions. In our end of program survey this was a major highlight for the girls. They learned about different genres of music and had a fun time listening to the bands and getting to engage in meaningful discussions with the visiting artists.

FINAL SHOWCASE

TYPE OF CAMP: Day Camp. Weekdays 9am- 3pm with extended care options available.

CAMPER GENDER(S): Coed Campers.

BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Camp Helping Hands is a service-learning summer day camp for kids ages 6-14. Campers learn that they can give back their community - and have fun doing it!

SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: Special needs campers attend our camp, although we do not have a special program outside of what we offer. We do have trained staff in the area of special needs education.

CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Swimming, Travel, Academics, and more.

CAMP LOCATION: Camp Helping Hands (CHH) leases space from universities and other institutions that offer the facility space and requirements needed to run our program.

Currently, we care located at California Lutheran University (CLU) is sunny Thousand Oaks, California. The campus is quaint, quiet and serene. With lots of green space and swimming pools, CHH campers have plenty of room to play and have fun in between doing service projects and field trips.

CAMP FACILITIES: CLU offers a swimming pool, large classroom space for indoor projects, open green space for sports and games, and easy access from the freeway.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Helping Hands is a service-learning camp for young children. Service-learning is often confused with community service, but they are different. While volunteerism and community service are components of the service-learning education model, service-learning emphasizes both service and learning and requires participants to use their knowledge and skills to address real-life needs in their own communities. At Camp Helping Hands, campers will achieve this goal by following the four phases of the service-learning process: investigation, planning, taking action, and reflection. When led through this collaborative process, students share and invest their ideas and skills and feel truly committed to the project and to making a difference.

Camp Helping Hands Summer Camps are offered in multiple locations throughout Ventura and Los Angeles counties and provide a fun and safe place for children ages 6 through 14 where they enjoy sports activities, games, swimming, arts and crafts, music, and more. But the real mission behind CHH is showing kids how they can make a difference and have fun doing it. Through engaging inquiry-based lessons and weekly service field trip expeditions, our campers learn leadership skills, develop compassion, and grow confident as they address real-world problems by taking action in their community.

Camp Helping Hands Summer Camps are three-week programs that provide fun and educational service-learning opportunities within several different segments of your community. Each summer program has an overarching theme, and each week of programming supports that theme. For CHH campers to receive the full benefits of service-learning, it is important to embrace this three-week approach, though one and two-week options are available. In addition to each week's service projects and field trips, CHH campers also swim, play sports activities and games, sing songs, do arts and craft projects, and much more.

CHH places campers according to age into four age groups: Junior Helpers (6 and 7), Young Advocates (8 and 9), Super Agents (10 and 11), and Chief Aides (12 and 13/14). Each group contains 15 to 17 campers and is led by three counselors who guide them through age-appropriate activities. Chief Aides, our oldest age group, are counselors-in-training (CIT's). In addition to participating in camp activities like our younger campers, they assist team counselors and camp administration with tasks as needed.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The Camp Helping Hands Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is designed for teens 12 and 13 years old and 14- year-olds entering their freshman year of high school. Camp Helping Hands CITs gain new skills as they learn what it is like to work at camp while still participating in fun camp activities.

Registration rates are reduced for CITs, since half of their time is spent helping staff and administration.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Currently no scholarships or aid is offered, though we plan to offer scholarships in the future.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Camp Helping Hands (CHH) began as a summer camp project and has become the premier service-learning summer camp for young children serving the Conejo Valley and surrounding areas. Today, CHH also offers Family Days, a one-day service program designed for parents who wish to serve alongside their children; Holiday Camps, one-week day camps that provide a glimpse of our summer program and occur during school winter and spring breaks; and Host A Camp, an opportunity to license and operate a CHH summer camp in your community.

OTHER CAMP INFO: We are planning to expand to other locations in California and other states. If you are interested in running a Camp Helping Hands we offer affordable licensing options.

Operated by the priests and seminarians of St. Michael’s Abbey, the camp offers good, wholesome fun in a safe environment, as well as instruction in the Catholic faith and participation in the sacraments.

With a wide variety of activities, ranging from classic team sports to tarantula hunting to epic battles that determine the fate of the entire universe, St. Michael’s Summer Camp is truly “Where All Boys Have Fun!”®

Upon their arrival on Sunday afternoon, the campers are divided into councils of 6-8 boys per counselor. The campers are always supervised. Even at night, two staff members are present in every dorm. Sleeping arrangements consist of three bunkrooms and one large military tent, each sleeping 3-6 councils.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Brothers from the same family receive reduced rates. "Campership" available for needy families.
