BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Established in 1917, the Tabor Academy Summer Program allows young people ages 6-17 the opportunity to develop their full potential as individuals. Under the guidance of highly qualified and energetic counselors, coaches, and teachers, the program encourages young people to have fun and take pride in their personal achievement in our optional enrichment courses, on the playing fields, and on the waterfront. The program provides a variety of engaging and enjoyable activities on the beautiful 85-acre seaside campus of Tabor Academy, in Marion, MA.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Swimming, Waterfront/Aquatics, Team Sports, Basketball, Volleyball, Gymnastics, Baseball, Football, Soccer, Tennis, Sailing, Fine Arts/Crafts, Video/Filmmaking/Photography, Theater, Weightloss, Computers, Math, Academics, Science, Technology, and more.
CAMP LOCATION: The Summer Program is located on the beautiful seaside campus of Tabor Academy in the small town of Marion, MA and stretches along a half mile of Sippican Harbor on Buzzards Bay leading to the Atlantic.
PHYSICAL ADDRESS FOR GPS USE: 215 Front Street, Marion, MA 02738 From southern points: 1. Route I-95 through Connecticut to Providence, RI. 2. In Providence, Exit 19, Route I-195 East toward Cape Cod. 3. Exit 20 off I-195 onto Route 105 (Front Street) into Marion. From western points: 1. Route I-495 South to Exit 1, Route I-195 West. 2. Exit 20 off I-195 onto Route 105 (Front Street) into Marion. From northern points: 1. Route 24 South to 495 South to Exit 1, 195 West. 2. Exit 20 off I-195 onto Route 105 (Front Street) into Marion. To campus from Exit 20 off of I-195: 1. Go right off ramp, go straight (bear left at fork) to stoplight. 2. Go through stoplight. Tabor Academy is on your right, approximately a 1/2 mile down the road.
CAMP FACILITIES: The location is one of the most recognizable and famous features of Tabor. Our facilities include dormitories, such as Lillard Hall, the Johnson Dining Room, the Fireman Performing Arts Center, Hoyt Hall, the Marine Science Center, the Academic Center, the Math and Science Center, the Fish Center for Athletics, a full service Health Center, the Hoyt Fields, the Hutchinson tennis courts and much more.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: TASP provides each camper with a myriad of opportunities to grow and explore the world around them. Our campers establish strong connections while learning the values of collaboration and respect in a unique seaside community.
TASP offers engaging activities and enrichment courses such as: Art, Baseball/Softball, Basketball, Clay, Crafts, Drama, ESL, Field Hockey, Gymnastics, Lacrosse, Marine Science, Photography, Sailing, Soccer, Squash, Swimming, Tennis, Theater Arts, Volleyball, and Ultimate Frisbee. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Tabor Academy Summer Program Counselor-In-Training Program is looking for responsible past campers interested in gaining leadership experience through classroom work and hands-on experiences in addition to activity based knowledge. All skills learned during the summer(s) as a CIT will be applicable not only if the participant becomes a counselor at the Summer Program but also in any future endeavors where working with others is crucial.Counselors-in-Training must be able to reflect on their experiences throughout the summer and be willing to push themselves out of their comfort zone.
