BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: YMCA Camp Wakonda offers a traditional co-ed overnight experience focusing on building friendships, learning new skills and growing in self confidence & esteem for our campers. Mature college age counselors are the key to providing these transformational experiences for our campers.

CAMP LOCATION: YMCA Camp Wakonda is located 30 minutes west of Springfield Missouri on 100 acres of pristine woodlands, fields, creeks and a lake. Please visit our website to learn more.
CAMP FACILITIES: Our Cabins are modern with electricity, air conditioning and comfortable bunk beds. We have a charming dining hall and recreation hall and modern bathroom facility with private shower and changing areas.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: With over 100 years of experience Camp Wakonda provides campers with the 'Best Week of Their Year'! Helping them grow in self confidence & esteem through positive leadership, progressive skill development and relationship building all done in a Christian culture.
Staff are college age and chosen for their maturity and Christian values. All are certified in First Aid & CPR and 75% are also lifeguards.
CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: We offer a CIT program for campers going into 11th & 12th grades.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: YMCA Camp Wakonda offers both voluntary tiered pricing and Financial Assistance up to 90% based on need.
FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): YMCA Camp Wakonda offers a Family Camp Weekend each year in early September.
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: YMCA Camp Wakonda has a robust Outdoor Education program.

Summer Camp Counselors must be out of High School for 1 year and love working with children. No camping experience necessary. To apply please visit the Summer Staff tab on our website.
